We offer you an opportunity of making a trip around Tzaryzin of the end
of XIX-beginning of XX century. This trip has become possible to arrange
with the help of the works of the doctor, region specialist, and a photographer
Alexander Lapinsky.
Lapinsky has been collecting the cards with the images of the old Tzaryzi
since the post-war times. Having gathered a unique collection of the beginning
of the century, he made several pictures of the same places in modern
Volgograd and put them along with the old ones on the card board. This
has produced the impressions that the city, which vanished, has emerged
over again, acquired shape and size, became real and easy to visualize:
narrow streets, running down to the Volga, red-brick houses with the unrepeatable
decorative brick works, churches…
We invite you to walk along Tzaryzin, looking nothing like the morn
city, but at the same time, reminding of it by some invisible lines.
